I Was Terrified of Our First Dance… Until I Found This

How one overwhelmed bride turned her biggest wedding worry into the most unforgettable part of her day—without setting foot in a dance studio.

I always imagined our first dance would be one of those magical wedding moments - something sweet, emotional, and a little cinematic. But as the big day started creeping closer, so did the anxiety.

We had no dance experience. We hadn’t picked a song. And whenever I pictured everyone watching us, I felt more nervous than excited.

We joked about just swaying in place. But deep down, I really wanted to feel proud of that moment and not just “get through it.”

So I started looking into local dance lessons. And wow… that rabbit hole got overwhelming fast.

Most studios were charging $100+ per session. They wanted us to book at least five or six in advance. And with both of us working full time (and dealing with wedding planning on top of that) I just didn’t see how we’d make it work.

So for a while, I just pushed the thought aside.

Then I Found Something That Actually Made Sense

A few weeks later, I came across a video on Instagram of a couple dancing in their living room. They weren’t professionals, but they looked confident, in sync, and genuinely happy.

That’s how I found WeddyDance.

It’s an online wedding dance course designed specifically for inexperienced couples who want to learn their dream dance from home.

It was just $27 so I figured… why not?

No Pressure, No Studio. Just Us, Our Living Room, and Laughter

From the very first video, I felt a shift.

The instructors broke everything down in a way that felt easy to follow, even for complete beginners like us.

We started practicing a few nights a week, usually after dinner. Sometimes we’d just do 15 minutes. Other nights, we’d get into it and stay up longer, laughing and figuring it out together.

It became our little routine and one of the few things during wedding prep that actually brought us closer, not more stressed.

Best Part? We Could Learn at Our Own Pace

What I loved most was how flexible the course was.

You could build your own dance from simple steps, or follow one of their choreographies set to real wedding songs like A Thousand Years, Lover, and Texas Hold ’Em.

We ended up creating a routine that felt like us… natural, not over-choreographed, but still impressive enough to feel like a moment.

And when we had questions or wanted feedback, we just recorded a video and sent it to them. Gabrielius and Klaudia actually replied with tips on how to improve. That kind of support? You don’t get that on YouTube.

We Went From Two Left Feet… to Feeling Like a Team

On the day of our wedding, I wasn’t nervous at all…

We stepped onto the dance floor, smiled at each other, and everything flowed.

We felt confident. We had fun. And our guests loved it.

I never would’ve expected our first dance to become one of my favorite memories from the whole day. But it really was.

See it for yourself:

If You’re Where We Were, This Might Be the Perfect Place to Start

If you’re in the same boat - nervous, short on time, not sure where to start - WeddyDance makes it simple.

They’ll guide you from your first step to your final pose, whether you want to learn a choreographed routine or just move together naturally and confidently.

WeddyDance is where our journey to our dream dance started. And looking back, it’s one of the best decisions we made during wedding planning.

"The course is really, really good—way more in-depth than I imagined. It has already helped me a lot, even though we’ve only completed 5 modules so far. I’m amazed at how much we’ve learned already."
